They're amazing. And kind. And really smart.
I remember the first time I sat down with a naturopath and feeling like their full focus was not only on me feeling better but figuring out what was going on and how to prevent it in the future.
At the time I was seeing the naturopath for my skin but naturopaths can help with anxiety, hormonal imbalances, addiction, digestive issues, migraines, allergies, and of course both men and women’s health. Appointments often involve a lot of dialogue, sharing and exploration of the ‘whole person’.
I’m a firm believer that all pregnant people can benefit from a rock-solid rock-star wellness team and a naturopath definitely fits on one. In their toolkits naturopaths can offer nutrition advice, nutritional supplementation guidance, acupuncture, homeopathy, herbal medicine and lifestyle modification support. And one of the biggest bonuses of all is that here in Ontario many extended insurance benefits cover most (or all!) of a naturopath’s fees.
Here in Brampton I work with Dr. Maria Papasodaro at Nature’s Touch Naturopathic Clinic. We even have a joint partnership where we share care of our clients. (Want to learn more? Have you ever seen a naturopath? What was the experience like?
